The Centre for Health Care of the Elderly (CHCE) is a multi-service, interdisciplinary program based primarily in the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building (CHVMB) of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (now part of Capital Health). The cornerstone of our care is interdisciplinary comprehensive geriatric assessment, treatment and education of frail older persons and their families. There is a prominent role of research, centred in the Geriatric Medicine Research Unit. Our researchers are recognized nationally and internationally as leaders in research on frailty and cognitive impairment. The CHCE services include Geriatric Day Hospital (includes a Falls Clinic), Geriatric Assessment Unit, Geriatric Restorative Care,p rogressive Care Unit, Geriatric Ambulatory Care/Memory Disability Clinic and satellite clinics throughout the province. CHVMB is also home to 175 veterans.

The Seniors College Association of Nova Scotia is registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing non-credit academic courses to people aged 50 +. Membership in the College entitles you to take any or all of the courses offered in 2009 (subject to class size limitations), attend general meetings, and participate in the election of officers, serve on committees and propose courses and instructors. Each course meets once per week for about two hours over a period of six to ten weeks. These courses are designed for your learning enjoyment and there will be no test or exams. Courses are offered in the winter, spring and fall. The membership fee for the year is $120.00. Drop by and chat!
